I’m incredibly lucky to have had the opportunity to be a part of the young cast in the Macrobert pantomime for 3 years now. Each year is so different and equally just as good. Getting the chance to work with a professional team in a professional environment, at my age, is something I could only have dreamed of. It’s amazing to see first hand all the work that goes into creating these wonderful shows that are performed each Christmas.
Members of the young cast have always got along so well as we all share the same passion for performing and I believe that this is what makes the show so special for, not only us, but the audience as well.
The rehearsal period as well as performing the shows help to grow my confidence and I have developed my skills in singing, dancing and acting alongside this. The audition process is also very professional and I always look forward to attending it. If I’m chosen to be a part of the young cast, I end up counting down the days until the rehearsals begin and I get to be back working in the place I love and doing something I thoroughly enjoy.
I definitely wouldn’t be the person I am today without these opportunities or all the amazing people I’ve met during the process. I’m so grateful for the positive impact that Macrobert has had on my learning and understanding of different aspects of theatre and I wouldn’t change this experience for the world.
