We are happy to announce the Christmas pantomime production for 2025, Weans In The Wood.
Johnny McKnight will return in the role of the Dame, as well as writing and directing the production.
The story follows Hans No Solo and his best pal Gretel, pupils at Merlina’s School for Magical Minors, as they fight the wicked Sheriff of Nottingham and their band of evil minions. Can Hans and Gretel stop the pantosphere turning into a deep well of despairing misery and agony (like waiting in the Primark queue on a Saturday afternoon)? Weans In The Wood is an imaginative twist on several beloved fairytale favourites, all coming together in a magical mash-up panto extravaganza.
Tickets are on sale now with early-bird discounts for customers who book before April 2025.
Macrobert are also thrilled to be welcoming back local family-run business Ian Gallacher Jewellers as sponsor for Weans In The Wood.

“We thoroughly enjoyed sponsoring Macrobert’s pantomime, Snow White in 2024. The team has done an excellent job integrating our business into the on-stage scenes, as well as showcasing our presence through various media formats. The pantomime was not only a delight to watch, but also a fantastic experience to be a part of. We would like to thank everyone involved for having us on board and are thrilled to see local businesses supporting each other in this way. We’re excited to see what Weans In The Woods will bring in 2025!"
Weans In The Wood will be performed at Macrobert Arts Centre from Wed 26 Nov 2025 – Sat 3 Jan 2026.
